Dear [Firstname]
Welcome to another edition of the Psych Press HR newsletter!
We hope that through these newsletters, we can support you as you meet various HR challenges and talent management objectives.
In this issue we have provided two articles providing a perspective around issues which may be topical within your HR environment. One is a practical, operational article outlining key issues to be considered in incorporating a psychometric sales assessment into a sales recruitment process. The other offers a review of current research into work safety and some impending legislative changes which may impact HR practitioners personally within this context.
As we emerge from the depths of the GFC, we are taking the opportunity with Article 1 to re-focus on the core issue of company revenue growth and increasing sales to achieve this. The challenge of ‘selling’ in a downturn is a critical business objective that HR can readily support. HR can play a critical and pivotal role in accurately identifying and retaining sales talent and thereby increasing sales metrics. “Identifying Great Salespeople” provides an operationally focussed insight on exactly that…
With Article 2, we reflect on recent issues of work safety that have emerged in popular media coverage and outline both the revenue impact on business and the potential legislative response for HR and management. Recent research is reviewed which suggests a new direction in assessing safety awareness as a both a preventative measure and as incorporated into a standardised recruitment process. HR can be instrumental in bringing a ‘best practice” approach to this issue and helping company “officers” manage the potential legal responsibilities.
If you would like to publish an article of your own within our newsletter, or offer feedback or open a discussion on specific issues, please contact Ms Nitha Prakash on pp@psychpress.com.au. We welcome your comments.
